Service interruption via unbounded AntPathMatcher regex matching
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Regular expression denial of service in Spring Framework allows remote attackers to interrupt applications by supplying crafted patterns. AntPathMatcher translates each supplied pattern into regular-expression matching for match, matchStart, or extractUriTemplateVariables without bounding character-access attempts. Exploitation requires application code to pass an attacker-controlled pattern to one of those methods, where excessive matching consumes processing time and degrades availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.3.0 <5.3.49
- Affected versionversion=6.1.0 <6.1.28
