User redirection via implicit view-name prefixes
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Open redirect in Spring Framework allows remote attackers to send users to an arbitrary external host through a crafted link. The default MVC and WebFlux view-name resolvers derive an implicit view name from the request path and interpret an attacker-supplied redirect: prefix as a redirect instruction. Exposure requires a /** mapping without an explicit view name and user interaction with the crafted link; MVC also accepts forward: for an internal redirect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.3.0 <5.3.49
- Affected versionversion=6.1.0 <6.1.28
