File disclosure via versioned resource path stripping
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Path traversal in affected Spring Framework releases allows remote attackers to read files outside configured static-resource locations. The versioned resource resolver removes repeated instances of guessed version metadata from a request path instead of only the final content-version suffix, allowing resolution outside the configured location. Exposure requires Spring MVC or WebFlux to serve file-system resources with versioning enabled and the attacker to know or guess the target resource metadata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.3.0 <5.3.49
- Affected versionversion=6.1.0 <6.1.28
