Service interruption via slow versioned-resource resolution
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Denial of service in Spring Framework allows remote attackers to exhaust HTTP connections via crafted versioned static-resource requests. The VersionResourceResolver path in Spring MVC and WebFlux performs slow filesystem-backed resource resolution for malicious paths, leaving connections occupied. Exposure requires an affected release, MVC or WebFlux, filesystem-served static resources, and configured versioned-resource support; successful requests interrupt application availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.3.0 <5.3.49
- Affected versionversion=6.1.0 <6.1.28
