Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked PSK copy
Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-816 1.10CNB05 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted Wi-Fi PSK. The goahead form2WlanBasicSetup.cgi handler copies the pskValue POST parameter into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length, permitting return-address overwrite. Authentication is not required; the published request demonstrates a persistent router crash, while controlled return-address overwrite supports arbitrary code execution.
