Information disclosure via serialized exception cause chains
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Information disclosure in Spring Data REST allows remote attackers to read persistence-layer internals from HTTP error responses. In versions 3.7.0 through 3.7.19, 4.3.0 through 4.3.16, 4.4.0 through 4.4.14, 4.5.0 through 4.5.11, and 5.0.0 through 5.0.5, the HTTP error serializer emits the full exception cause chain when repository queries fail instead of limiting client-visible details. Exposure requires a relational JDBC or JPA repository endpoint without additional error handling or an access policy that blocks unauthenticated requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.7.0 <3.7.20
