File read and overwrite via unsafe path interpolation
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Path traversal in i18next-fs-backend before 2.6.4 allows remote attackers to read or overwrite host files via crafted lng or ns values. loadPath and addPath interpolate unvalidated identifiers into filesystem paths, allowing separators or .. to escape the locale directory. Reachability requires an application to derive lng or ns from untrusted input; overwrite additionally requires the create path with saveMissing enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
