DOM XSS via unsafe translated URL schemes
Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
DOM-based cross-site scripting in i18nextify before 4.0.8 allows attackers to execute script through translated href or src values. The replaceInside handler in src/localize.js writes the raw i18next.t() result into live href and src attributes without rejecting executable URL schemes. Exploitation requires control of translation content or its backend response and victim interaction, enabling code execution in the page origin but not service interruption.
