Stored script execution via unencoded group names
Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026
Stored XSS in TCExam 16.5.0 Group Management allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted group name. The group creation handler stores the Name field without sanitization, and group views render it without output encoding, allowing an ontoggle handler to run. Administrative group-creation privileges are required, and execution occurs when an authorized viewer loads the affected page; the vendor disputes reproducibility.
