2FA removal via inverted user-ID comparison
Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Admidio before 5.0.9 allows remote authenticated users to remove another account's TOTP configuration. The reset path in modules/profile/two_factor_authentication.php uses !== when comparing the current and target user IDs, so its guard blocks self-resets but permits cross-account resets. A group leader must have profile-edit rights over the target; removing an administrator's TOTP reduces that account to password-only authentication.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
