CVE-2026-4163Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via wireless CGI parameters

Published Mar 14, 2026 · Updated Mar 14, 2026

Command injection in Wavlink WL-WN579A3 220323 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands via crafted HTTP POST requests. The SetName handler formats the unescaped NewName value into a command string that sub_404850 passes to system(), while GuestWifi inserts Guest_ssid into a shell command executed by sub_406BE0. The CGI endpoint requires no authentication or user interaction, granting command execution with the firmware web process's privileges.
