Application disruption via Swift Compact Protocol overflow
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
Integer overflow in Apache Thrift's Swift Compact Protocol before 0.23.0 allows remote attackers to disrupt or corrupt applications. Apache's notice identifies the Swift Compact Protocol but does not disclose the affected function, arithmetic operation, or attacker-controlled value that wraps. Exposure requires an application to process attacker-controlled Compact Protocol data through the vulnerable Swift runtime; the wrap triggers resource exhaustion or unexpected behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
