CVE-2026-41585Network attack vector

Authenticated node crash via interrupted RPC requests

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

Denial of service in Zebra allows remote authenticated users to crash affected nodes by interrupting authenticated JSON-RPC requests. The HTTP middleware treats a request-body read failure as unrecoverable and aborts the process instead of returning an error response. Reachability requires a valid RPC cookie or disabled cookie authentication plus an exposed RPC interface; shipped defaults bind RPC to localhost.
