CVE-2026-41580Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Browser script execution via unencoded PDF metadata

Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026

Reflected XSS in Stirling PDF before 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript via crafted PDF Title or Author metadata. The /get-info-on-pdf endpoint embeds the extracted metadata directly into returned HTML without encoding characters that form tags or attributes. A user must view the resulting page; the script then runs in the application's browser context and can read accessible client-side data or alter page content.
