Misplaced file extraction via crafted archive filename
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Path traversal in Chitora Soft Lhaz+ 3.6.3 and earlier allows local users to extract archive contents to an unexpected folder. The automatic folder creation feature derives the extraction directory from the archive filename; for certain crafted names, it creates no same-name folder and instead selects the archive parent directory. Exploitation requires automatic folder creation to be enabled and a user to extract the crafted archive, allowing files to be written outside the intended destination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
