CVE-2026-41526

Command execution via single-quote context escape

Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Command injection in KDE KCoreAddons before 6.25 allows context-dependent attackers to execute shell commands via crafted input. KShell::quoteArg treats single-quoted input as safe, while sendInput forwards the result to a terminal without escaping control characters. Exploitation requires an affected application such as Dolphin or Kate to place attacker-controlled content in an embedded terminal, where commands run with the user's privileges.
