Stored DOM XSS via tooltip innerHTML
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Stored DOM XSS in Chartbrew 4.9.0 through 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in public-dashboard viewers. ChartTooltip.js inserts the stored ChartDatasetConfig.legend value into a template string and assigns it to tooltipEl.innerHTML without sanitization. Project-editor access is required to plant the payload; loading the public dashboard then runs it in each viewer's browser origin.
