Process termination via unbounded response buffering
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Denial of service in OpenTelemetry.Resources.Azure 1.15.0-beta.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash processes via metadata responses. AzureVmMetaDataRequestor buffers the Azure VM metadata HTTP response body in memory without limiting its size. Exploitation requires control of the configured metadata endpoint or a man-in-the-middle position and can cause heap pressure, garbage-collection stalls, or an OutOfMemoryException.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
