SYSTEM command execution via unauthenticated named pipe
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Missing authentication in the Deskflow daemon 1.20.0 through 1.26.0.160 allows local users to execute commands as SYSTEM through IPC. IpcServer.cpp enables WorldAccessOption on the deskflow-daemon pipe, while DaemonIpcServer.cpp accepts command, elevate, and start messages without authentication or authorization. Local users with ordinary Windows accounts can reach the pipe; MSWindowsWatchdog.cpp launches the supplied command using a duplicated winlogon.exe SYSTEM token, enabling full host compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
