Stored XSS via unrestricted HTML file uploads
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Stored XSS in ProjeQtOr 7.0 through 12.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through uploaded HTML files. The Security.php checkValidFileName() routine rejects PHP and .htaccess extensions but accepts HTML and HTM files without inspecting their contents. Exploitation requires an authenticated upload and a victim to open the stored file URL, which runs the script in the victim's browser context.
