Stored script execution via incomplete HTML filtering
Published Apr 27, 2026 · Updated Apr 27, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in ProjeQtOr 7.0 through 12.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in other users' browsers. The checkValidHtmlText() function in Security.php checks only specific dangerous patterns, then stores and returns alternate HTML syntax without output encoding. Low-privileged access is required to submit the payload, and another user must view the affected content; img event handlers can bypass the filter.
