Command execution via unescaped placeholders passed to eval
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Command injection in Unix-like Artifacts Collector before 3.3.0 allows attackers to execute commands on an analyst host via crafted evidence. The _run_command function passes artifact commands containing %user%, %user_home%, or %line% substitutions to eval without shell-context escaping, causing metacharacters to be interpreted by the shell. Execution requires an analyst to process a hostile live system, mounted image, or tampered artifact definition, and injected commands inherit the UAC process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
