Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped textarea output

Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026

Stored XSS in eazyserver Sentence To SEO 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via Permanent keywords. The settings handler accepts POST data with FILTER_DEFAULT, saves the Permanent keywords value through update_option(), and echoes it into a textarea without escaping, so a closing textarea tag escapes the element. Administrator-level WordPress access is required; the stored script executes when a user opens the plugin settings page, permitting script-driven actions in that user's browser.
