Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 22, 2026 · Updated Apr 22, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in DX Unanswered Comments 1.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify plugin settings via forged requests. The settings form in dxuc-unanswered-comments-admin-page.php accepts dxuc_authors_list and dxuc_comment_count updates without validating a nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to submit the attacker-controlled request, changing the plugin’s author filter and comment-count configuration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
