Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Missing authorization in Speedup Optimization 1.5.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change the optimization module state. The speedup01_ajax_enabled function accepts the speedup01_enabled AJAX action and updates the enabled setting without a capability check or nonce verification. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to enable or disable optimization, altering site behavior without granting code execution or broader administrative control.
