Arbitrary directory overwrite via unvalidated version path
Published Apr 23, 2026 · Updated Apr 23, 2026
Path traversal in VoidZero Vite+ before 0.1.17 allows local users to overwrite directories outside VP_HOME via a crafted version string. The public downloadPackageManager export passes options.version into cache-path construction without semver validation, then removes the target and moves extracted files into it. Exploitation requires code already running in the same Node.js process through the binding; normal vp CLI flows validate versions and are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
