Authenticated note manipulation via delayed authorization
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Broken access control in EspoCRM before 9.3.5 allows remote authenticated users to pin notes without parent-object edit access. In application/Espo/Tools/Stream/Api/PostNotePin.php, process() pins and saves the note before checkParent() verifies permission. A low-privileged account with note visibility is sufficient, and the unauthorized database change persists even though the API returns 403.
