CVE-2026-4116Network attack vector

Authenticated TOTP bypass via Unicode encoding

Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026

Improper Unicode handling in SonicWall SMA 1000 allows remote authenticated users to bypass Workplace or Connect Tunnel TOTP authentication. SonicWall identifies the affected locus as the Workplace and Connect Tunnel authentication flow but has not disclosed the code path or how encoded input defeats TOTP validation. Exploitation requires valid SSLVPN credentials and grants access without the required second factor; administrator access and user interaction are not required.
