Local privilege escalation
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Improper access control in Microsoft Kinect on affected Windows releases allows local users to elevate privileges on the host. Microsoft has not published the affected Kinect component or the access-control operation that mishandles a caller-controlled request. Exploitation requires existing low-privilege local access and no user interaction, and successful exploitation grants elevated control on the same host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
