CVE-2026-41079Public exploit

Stack-memory disclosure via inflated SNMP string length

Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in OpenPrinting CUPS before 2.4.17 allows remote attackers to expose stack memory through crafted SNMP replies. asn1_decode_snmp records the untrusted ASN.1 length before asn1_get_string truncates the copy, so backend_walk_cb passes an inflated byte count to utf16_to_utf8 and reads up to 176 bytes beyond the stack buffer. Exploitation requires the same LAN segment, enabled SNMP discovery, and an SNMP-discovered printer; leaked bytes become supply descriptions visible to authenticated users.
