Account takeover via unchecked empty LDAP password
Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026
Authentication bypass in Request Tracker before 5.0.10 and 6.0.0 through 6.0.2 allows remote attackers to access LDAP-backed accounts. The GetAuth routine in lib/RT/Authen/ExternalAuth.pm passes an empty password to external authentication instead of rejecting it before an LDAP bind. Exposure requires LDAP or Active Directory authentication and a server policy that accepts unauthenticated binds, granting the target user's RT privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
