Remote code execution via unvalidated Mako template directory
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Remote code execution in Tautulli 2.17.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute Python through a crafted newsletter template. The configUpdate endpoint accepts newsletter_custom_dir without validation, and serve_template gives that path directly to Mako TemplateLookup, which executes template code. Fresh installs expose the chain without credentials; after setup, administrator access is required, and code runs as the Tautulli process user.
