CVE-2026-41052Network attack vector

Host privilege escalation via wildcard project permissions

Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026

Privilege escalation in SUSE Rancher allows remote authenticated users with Project Owner access to gain host-level access. The built-in project-owner role grants a wildcard on project verbs, which includes updatepsa and lets its holder assign the privileged Pod Security Admission profile to a namespace. Exploitation requires Cluster Member access, Project Owner status, namespace creation, and deployment of a privileged workload; affected releases are 2.12 before 2.12.10, 2.13 before 2.13.6, and 2.14 before 2.14.2.
