CVE-2026-41042Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via H2 INIT

Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026

Code injection in Apache Gravitino before 1.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Java code through the testConnection API. The API passes an attacker-supplied H2 JDBC URL to the H2 driver without rejecting its INIT parameter, which H2 evaluates during connection setup. The endpoint is unauthenticated, but exploitation requires an H2-backed catalog; H2 is mainly used for testing and local development.
