Authentication replay via unwired WSS4J caches
Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026
Authentication replay in Spring Web Services allows remote attackers to reuse accepted WS-Security material in repeated SOAP messages. Wss4jSecurityInterceptor fails to place configured WSS4J ReplayCache instances into RequestData, so validation skips nonce, timestamp, and SAML one-time-use replay checks. Exposure requires a network-reachable SOAP service that validates those constructs and expects the interceptor's configured caches to reject still-valid repeated material.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=3.1.0 <3.1.9
- Affected versionversion=4.0.0 <4.0.19
- Affected versionversion=4.1.0 <4.1.4
