CVE-2026-40987Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file write via uncanonicalized remote filename

Published Jun 11, 2026 · Updated Jun 11, 2026

Path traversal in affected Spring Integration releases allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files via FTP, SFTP, or SMB filenames. The remote-file synchronizer joins a server-supplied filename to localDirectory without canonicalizing or rejecting traversal segments, so ../ escapes the configured download directory. Exploitation requires an application to poll a malicious or compromised file server; attacker-controlled content can then overwrite any file writable by the client process.
