Vector-store query manipulation via unescaped filters
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Query injection in Spring AI 1.0.0 through 1.0.5 and 1.1.0 through 1.1.4 allows remote attackers to alter vector-store queries. FilterExpressionConverter implementations place user-controlled metadata keys and values into backend-specific query syntaxes without context-appropriate escaping. Exposure requires a VectorStore application to pass user-supplied filterExpression input, which lets crafted delimiters or operators change the records selected by an operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=1.0.0 <1.0.6
- Affected versionversion=1.1.0 <1.1.5
