Unauthenticated privilege escalation via URL parameter
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Privilege escalation in Apache Ranger 2.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain elevated access via a crafted URL parameter. Apache has disclosed only that URL-parameter input is improperly validated; it has not identified the affected endpoint, parameter, or privilege transition. Network access is sufficient and no authentication or user interaction is required, but the exact privileges gained remain undisclosed.
