CVE-2026-40861Network attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via task-log path escape

Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026

Path traversal in Apache Airflow before 3.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to read API-server files through task-log paths. FileTaskHandler opens glob-matched symlinks without validating their real paths and accepts dot-dot segments in Task SDK task IDs, resolving log paths beyond base_log_folder. Exploitation requires DAG-author privileges and a worker log folder shared with the API server; file reads are limited to the server process's permissions.
