Authenticated root code execution via HTTP buffer overwrite
Published Apr 14, 2026 · Updated Apr 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Fortinet FortiWeb allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via crafted HTTP requests. The cat_cgi_paths component fails to validate user-supplied HTTP data before writing past the end of an allocated buffer. High-privilege access is required; affected releases are 7.4.0 through 7.4.11, 7.6.0 through 7.6.6, and 8.0.0 through 8.0.3, and successful exploitation runs code as root.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
