CVE-2026-40677Network attack vector

Elevated code execution via unsigned HTTP updates

Published Jun 12, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026

Insecure updating in AMD Management Console, Ryzen Master, and uProf allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute elevated code. The AMD Auto Updater retrieves executables over HTTP and accepts them without verifying a digital signature, allowing a network intermediary to replace the download. Exploitation requires interception of update traffic and passive user interaction; successful substitution executes the attacker's binary with elevated privileges.
