CVE-2026-40636

Filesystem access via hard-coded node credentials

Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026

Hard-coded credentials in Dell ECS 3.8.1.0 through 3.8.1.7 and ObjectScale before 4.3.0.0 allow local users to access the filesystem. The node operating environment embeds credentials for default node-user accounts instead of requiring unique secrets. Local node access is required, and successful use grants filesystem access; Dell has not disclosed the affected account names or exact privilege boundary.
