Memory corruption via undersized Opus FEC buffers
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026
Heap buffer overflow in PJPROJECT 2.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted incoming Opus audio packets. In pjmedia/src/pjmedia-codec/opus.c, codec_decode() copies input->size bytes into dec_frame[].buf, whose PCM-based allocation can be smaller than codec_parse() output. The path is reachable only when an application enables Opus for received audio; successful triggering can crash the process or corrupt its heap.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
