CVE-2026-40606Network attack vector

Unauthenticated proxy access via LDAP filter injection

Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026

LDAP injection in mitmproxy 12.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass proxy authentication with a crafted username. The ProxyAuth addon's Ldap.call method inserts the username directly into an LDAP search filter without escaping filter metacharacters. Exposure requires the nondefault proxyauth option to use LDAP; successful bypass grants unauthorized use of the configured proxy.
