CVE-2026-40585Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via indefinitely valid reset tokens

Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026

Weak password recovery in blueprintUE Self-Hosted Edition before 4.2.0 allows remote attackers holding an old reset token to take over an account. UserModel.php's findUserIDFromEmailAndToken() matches only the email and token, omitting any comparison of password_reset_at against a lifetime. Exploitation requires obtaining an unconsumed token, after which the reset route accepts it indefinitely and permits changing that account's password.
