Authenticated customer PII disclosure via unchecked mailbox access
Published Apr 21, 2026 · Updated Apr 21, 2026
Missing authorization in FreeScout before 1.8.213 allows remote authenticated users to read complete customer profiles via a crafted AJAX request. The load_customer_info branch in ConversationsController.php looks up a customer by the supplied email address but renders the customer sidebar even when the mailbox does not exist or the user lacks access. Any authenticated agent with a valid customer email address can expose names, addresses, phone numbers, social profiles, and internal notes across mailboxes.
