CVE-2026-4053Network attack vector

Post tampering via unenforced edit expiration

Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026

Authorization bypass in Mattermost 10.11.0 through 10.11.13 and 11.5.0 through 11.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter posts. The post patch and update API endpoints omit PostEditTimeLimit enforcement for file attachments, props, and pin status after expiration. An authenticated user with permission to update a post can tamper with those stored attributes after the configured edit window closes.
