Authenticated command execution via credential shell interpolation
Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026
OS command injection in Nginx Proxy Manager 2.9.14 through 2.15.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. setupCertbotPlugins() places dns_provider_credentials into a single-quoted shell command passed to child_process.exec() after escaping quotes before backslashes. The user must hold certificates:manage permission and store the payload before a backend restart triggers execution as the container backend process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
