CVE-2026-40501Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via privileged search window

Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026

Remote code execution in SearchService in CherryHQ Cherry Studio 1.2.2 through 1.9.12 allows remote attackers to run code through search content. SearchService loads provider pages and search results into an Electron BrowserWindow with Node.js integration enabled and context isolation disabled, granting page JavaScript access to Node.js APIs. Exploitation requires a user to initiate a search or open provider settings; malicious page code then runs as the Cherry Studio process and can execute commands or read and modify user-accessible files.
