Authenticated code execution via extension blocklist bypass
Published Apr 20, 2026 · Updated Apr 20, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in OpenMage LTS before 20.17.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP through product options. The _validateUploadedFile() path applies an ExcludeExtension validator containing only php and exe, then stores bypass extensions such as phtml under media/custom_options/quote. Customer-level access and a web-server mapping that executes the uploaded extension are required, after which the uploaded PHP runs with the store application's privileges.
